Complete Web3 UX Checklist

Use this before a launch, a redesign, or a UX audit. It is written for product teams, not protocol researchers. Pair it with Web3 Product Design when you want the work done with you.

1. First session

• Value is visible without connecting a wallet
• Connect explains what the signature does in one sentence
• Wrong network is detected and recoverable
• Rejected signature does not look like a crash
• Mobile wallet deep-links work (WalletConnect / in-app browser)

2. Onboarding

• Custody vs connect is a choice, not a lecture
• Seed / recovery is a separate flow from “try the product”
• KYC is tiered and says what each tier unlocks
• Empty states tell the next action (deposit, swap, claim)

3. Money movement

• Network is labelled on every address
• Memo / destination tag is required when the chain needs it
• Gas or fee is previewed before confirm
• Human-readable amounts first; raw units in details
• Minimums and limits shown before the user types

4. Confirmations

• Dialog states what they are signing (spend cap, swap, stake)
• Unlimited approvals are opt-in, not the default
• Estimated time and what “pending” means
• Failed / replaced / dropped have distinct copy and a next step

5. Dashboards

• Balance, risk, and primary CTA above protocol trivia
• Positions use the same units as the ticket
• Hidden positions (unclaimed, vesting) are not invisible
• Charts do not replace a number the user came to see

6. Trust

• Entity, support, and docs linked from the product chrome
• Audit / bug bounty / status page one click from deposit
• No fake TVL or invented testimonials
• Incident copy ready for paused deposits

7. Mobile and access

• Primary task completable on a 390px-wide screen
• Focus states and contrast pass a quick AA check
• Amounts do not wrap into unreadable wei strings

8. Launch

• Feature flags for chain rollouts
• Support macros for the top five errors
• Analytics on connect success, first tx, and failed signatures
